Fete & Funfair
Newbury Carnival is much more than just the Parade. Our Fete and Funfair in Northcroft Park runs from 12.00 until 6.00pm and includes:
- a funfair and extra rides and activities for children of all ages, including Zorb balls, archery, volleyball and martial arts demonstrations
- a full programme of arena entertainment (see below for details)
- a wide range of food-stalls, including hog roast, burgers, kebabs, Caribbean rotis, spicy West African snacks, donuts, roasted nuts, old-fashioned sweets, chocolate fountain, smoothies, ice creams and more
- trade stands and stalls for local groups and charities
- RhymeTime sessions for younger children with West Berkshire Libraries throughout the afternoon from 3.15pm and a special baby ‘signing’ RhymeTime at 1.00pm
- craft stalls of all sorts, with woodworking demonstrations and lots more to see
Picnic in the Park
This year we’d like to invite you to Picnic in the Park with us. You might like to arrive just before noon for the official opening of Newbury Carnival 2011 and enjoy your picnic to the sounds of music from Elvis tribute act Mike Nova. Then walk the short distance to the town centre to enjoy the Carnival Parade, before returning to the park for more arena entertainments and displays.

- 1.00pm Barfield Hand Bell Ringers
- 1.15pm Watership Down Choir
- 3.00pm The Hurst Singers
- 3.20pm Reading Scottish Pipe Band
- 3.40pm Icknield Way Morris Men
Please note that the following times may vary slightly, depending on the time required for the Parade judging:
- 4.00pm CARNIVAL PARADE PRIZE-GIVING
- 4.15pm Devizes Male Majorwrecks
- 4.45pm Idle Words Jazz Duo
- 5.15pm Wired Rock Cafe
